The staff, shocked by her shocking death, remembered the decapitated Abby Choi as a “merciful” and “kind” model.

The dismemberment of model Abby Choi haunts the people who worked with her just weeks before the rising fashion model was brutally murdered, The Post has learned.

Choi, 28, whose mutilated remains were found on Friday in pots and a refrigerator in a house in suburban Hong Kong, previously told her more than 100,000 Instagram followers about her latest modeling feat: she was on the cover of a luxury fashion magazine.

“From Hong Kong to the cover of L’Officiel Monaco, my journey as a style icon continues,” Choi tweeted on February 15.

Just a few weeks prior, Choi had made a lasting impression on the L’Officiel Monaco photoshoot team in Paris, including hairstylist Johann Juwanceau, who said he was still struggling to get over the young model’s gruesome passing.

“I admit it’s a little hard for me to grasp … the harsh reality of this story, and I often think of Abby,” Juvanso told The Post on Tuesday as investigators searched the junkyard for Choi’s missing body parts.

Choi, 28, appeared on the cover of L’Officiel Monaco earlier this month before posting the image on her Instagram on February 15.

“Her death is more tragic because… there is nothing worse than what happened to her,” continued the French hairdresser.

Authorities suspect that Choi’s unemployed ex-husband, Alex Kwong, and his family killed her over a property in Ho Man Tin’s upscale Kaduri Hill neighborhood that is reportedly worth millions of dollars.

According to the South China Morning Post, a police source said that Choi bought the place in the name of her former father-in-law Kwong Kau and planned to sell it – supposedly to his dismay.

Choi’s chauffeur and former brother-in-law, Anthony Kwong Kong-kit, allegedly had to drive the model to pick up her daughter; instead, she was never seen again and her second husband, identified by the local press as Tam Chuk Kwan, reported the disappearance.

Three days after Choi’s disappearance, police found two women’s legs in the refrigerator of the apartment that Kwong Kau rented just a few days ago. An electric saw, a meat grinder, a hammer, face shields and raincoats, and Choi’s purse were also seized from the house.

According to the South China Morning Post, there was also a pot of radishes, carrots and what is believed to be human meat, and another pot of human bones. Hong Kong police said Choi’s severed head was boiled until only the skull remained, according to the Times of London.

“There’s nothing worse than what happened to her.”

An autopsy revealed that the young mother had a large hole behind her right ear, Hong Kong police said at a press conference on Sunday.

Choi’s ex-husband, ex-father-in-law and ex-brother-in-law were charged with her murder.

According to Juvanso, Choi got married for the second time, and her second husband accompanied her to the prestigious photo shoot for the cover of Paris Fashion Week on January 22.

“The day went very well because Abby was very sweet,” he said. “Her companion too.

The hairdresser remembered how Choi called her children while he perfected her image. Choi was the mother of four children ranging in age from 3 to 10 years old. Kwong’s ex-husband, 28, fathered two older ones; she shared the rest with Tam, whom the model reportedly married in 2016.

The Tam family owns the popular TamJai Yunnan Mixian restaurant chain in Hong Kong and mainland China.

Prior to her murder, Choi, who has worked with fashion brands like Dior and Chanel, documented her life as an influencer on Instagram, sharing countless haute couture looks as well as snaps with luminaries like rapper Pharrell Williams, South Korean model Lee Soo- Hyuk and Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad.

“Taking every moment of life,” reads the bio on Choi’s account, which had 139,000 followers as of Wednesday.

Choi wrote to Juvanso on February 15 after posting her L’Officiel Monaco cover on Instagram to thank him for “this beautiful project we did,” he said.

“A few days later, I learned this terrible news,” Juvanso added. “Knowing that she died in such conditions will forever remain in my memory.”

L’Officiel Monaco described Choi as a fashion icon and media personality, while praising the trendsetter’s “impeccable sense of style” and boundless passion for fashion.

“I’m a person who is constantly soaking up inspiration and always trying out new styles,” Choi told the magazine. “Sometimes I also try to dress more extravagantly, mixing and matching different looks.”

A photographer on set in Paris said he spent several hours with Choi, calling her “merciful” and “kind.”

Alex Kwong, Choi’s 28-year-old ex-husband, is the father of two of her four children. He has been charged with her murder.

The Parisian photographer, who asked not to be named, noted her rapid rise in the fashion world.

“She managed to become famous internationally, which is not easy,” said the photographer.

“I didn’t imagine that a person so good, so full of love, so innocent, a person who had done nothing wrong would be killed like this,” Choi’s friend Bernard Cheng told The Associated Press. “My heart is still heavy. I don’t sleep well.”

Hong Kong police search the Northeast New Territories dump in rural Hong Kong’s Ta Kwu Ling for evidence related to Choi’s murder, including her missing arms and torso. She was last seen alive on February 21 near the Kowloon City area, police said earlier.

The late model’s former mother-in-law, Jenny Lee, has also been charged with obstruction of justice. All four suspects, who have yet to plead guilty, have been jailed without bail as the case has been adjourned until May 8. It is unclear if they have hired lawyers to comment on their interests.
