In Brooklyn, an armed man opened fire, killing a 17-year-old boy: VIDEO

The shooter who killed the 17-year-old in Brooklyn dropped his water bottle while running, giving police a possible clue, police said Thursday.

The video shows the shooter opening fire late Thursday night after exiting YaYa Deli at Saratoga Avenue and Prospect Place in Brownsville after purchasing a bottle of water.

Police have released surveillance video and images of a man who authorities say shot and killed a 17-year-old in Brooklyn.

The victim, who was also inside the deli, was shot in the upper body.

“Two shots were fired and he was lying on the floor,” a man who witnessed the shooting and did not wish to be identified told Daily News. “When they pulled up his shirt, he was hit from the front,” the man recalls. “He was bleeding from his mouth.”

Medics rushed him to the Interfaith Medical Center, but they could not save him.

Police have released surveillance video and images of a man who authorities say shot and killed a 17-year-old in Brooklyn.

“He was a good kid,” a family member told The News shortly after. “He was a scientist and he liked to rap.”

According to the police, Bassett is not in the gang, but detectives suspect that he may be connected to those who are.
