New photo released of driver wanted for injuring NYPD cop while fleeing Bronx parking lot

Police on Thursday released a new photo of a wanted driver who they say hit an NYPD cop while escaping from a parking lot in the Bronx, police said.

The bearded suspect was driving a BMW M5 in north Loring Place, near 183rd W. Street in University Heights, at 10:40 p.m. on Nov.

Suspecting that the car was being used to commit a crime, the officers drove into the BMW with their unmarked vehicles, police said.

Authorities have released a new image of the man police say shot a police officer while stealing a BMW in the Bronx.

But as they approached the BMW, the license plate changer jumped into the back seat and the man behind the wheel started the engine.

The driver repeatedly drove the BMW back and forth, crashing into police vehicles both in front and behind, until he made a hole large enough to escape, police said.

During the scuffle, the driver of the BMW screeched into an approaching police officer, injuring the policeman’s right knee before jumping over a curb and racing down the sidewalk to escape, police said.

The wounded policeman was rushed to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

The escape damaged six unoccupied cars parked on Loring Place North, police said. A badly damaged BMW that fled the scene was found unoccupied about three miles from White Plains Road and Morris Park Avenue.

A few days after the escape, police released photos of the man changing his license plate and driver profile, but no arrests were made.

Police released new, clearer images of the driver in the hope that someone could identify him.
