UC Santa Cruz police looking for student rape suspect

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) UC Santa Cruz police said they are looking for a man who allegedly raped a female student during Friday night’s party.

The incident took place in the forest of the Upper Campus on the territory of a residential town, police said. The female victim was at a big party in the woods with some friends.

Friends discovered that the victim passed out around midnight. She was taken to the campus fire department for medical treatment, police said. The victim told her friends that she had been sexually assaulted and the police were called to investigate.

The suspect is described as a young white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

UC Santa Cruz says they are providing the victim with support and resources.
