Travis County residents may drop tree debris at Mansfield Dam Park.

Travis County residents can now drop tree debris in Mansfield Dam Park.

The new distribution point is open every day from 10:00 to 15:00 and only accepts tree branches, twigs, shrubs and leaves.

Household garbage, household appliances, metal or other non-vegetable waste will not be accepted.

Residents may experience long waits at the pickup point due to high demand in the county for trash pickup following the historic ice storm.

Travis County residents can also use Austin Water’s Hornsby Bend Biosolids plant at 2210 FM 973 Austin, TX 78725 to dispose of storm debris. This place is open every day from 8:00 to 16:30.

Mansfield Dam and Hornsby Bend are free to Travis County residents.

For residents of unincorporated areas of Travis County who are unable to deliver their trash to drop-off sites, the County Department of Transportation and Natural Resources (TNR) is working to get contractors to help with curbside trash collection.

A pickup schedule is not yet available, but residents of the unincorporated area are being asked to cut their trash into four to five foot pieces and place them at the curb by Monday, Feb. 20.

Other information about storm debris cleanup, including information about private dump sites that may charge a fee, is available on the Travis County Office of Emergency Management page on the Winter Storm Recovery page.
