The fashion designer claims Sam Brinton wore her clothes stolen from a Washington airport in 2018.

The Houston-based fashion designer said disgraced former Energy Department official Sam Brinton wore tailored clothing she reported missing at a Washington airport in 2018.

Asya Khamsin, a Tanzanian fashion designer who has been making her own clothes for years, shared the shocking connection on Monday in a tweet that has since gone viral.

Hamsi said she found photos of Brinton wearing her custom clothing, which she packed into a missing bag after she learned Brinton was accused of stealing several pieces of luggage from two U.S. airports.

“I have seen images. It was my custom design that got lost in this bag in 2018,” she told Fox News. “He wore my clothes that were stolen.”

Khamsin’s bag disappeared from Washington’s Ronald Reagan Airport on March 9, 2018, after she flew into the capital for an event where she was supposed to flaunt her clothes, she told Fox. However, after the bag disappeared, she was unable to participate.

Her husband filed reports with the Washington Metropolitan Airports Police Department and filed a lawsuit with Delta Airlines, the airline Khamsin used to fly from Houston to DC. The bag was never found.

Correspondence between Delta and Himson, shared with Fox News, shows the fashion designer begging the airline to return her bag, saying it was full of expensive clothes, shoes, jewelry and other personal items.

After seeing photos of Brinton in what she believes to be her outfit on the news, she filed a complaint with the Houston Police Department on December 16. In late January, she said she was contacted by the local FBI office in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Khamsin’s husband.

“Houston Police, I think they [sent] case with the FBI in Minnesota,” Khamsin’s husband told Fox. “He called to say, ‘I [with] FBI, I’m working on this case. Then my wife gave him the information and we didn’t hear anything. We don’t know if a case has been filed. We don’t know if the case is closed.”

The FBI has not confirmed that it is investigating, as per agency policy. As of Wednesday evening, Brinton had not been charged with any charges related to Khamsin’s clothing.

Brinton, 35, served as the Biden Deputy Assistant Secretary of Administration for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposal at the Department of Energy’s Nuclear Energy Administration before they were mothballed after they were charged with stealing a woman’s suitcase from the Minneapolis airport in September and another woman’s bag from Minneapolis airport. Las Vegas airport in July.

In both the Minnesota and Nevada cases, Brinton traveled on flights from Washington, D.C. before allegedly stealing bags from airport baggage carousels, according to criminal complaints received by Fox News.

Brinton was released without bail and ordered not to contact any of the victims last week after appearing in court in Minnesota.

They appeared in a Las Vegas court in December and were released after posting $15,000 bail. The judge in this case told the former nuclear waste officer to “stay out of trouble.”

Brinton faces up to five years in prison for theft in Minnesota and up to 10 years in prison for robbery in Las Vegas.

Attempts to contact Brinton and his lawyer in Las Vegas were unsuccessful. The Post also reached out to Khamsin and Delta Airlines for comment.
