Teen robbers on scooters steal wallets and attack elderly Manhattan residents: NYPD

Police said Wednesday that two teenage muggers on scooters are attacking seniors in Manhattan.

The duo first attacked around 10:30 p.m. Jan. 2, police said, ripping out the 85-year-old woman’s handbag as she walked down West 34th Street toward Eighth Avenue. The victim received a minor hand injury.

Police have released photos of two teenagers who authorities believe were robbing elderly people in Manhattan.

Last Saturday, police said the same duo attacked a 76-year-old woman walking down E. Sixth Street towards Avenue A in the East Village around 5:15 p.m. She fell to the ground as they tried in vain to steal her purse. .

The crooks rode back empty-handed. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital with an injury to her left eye and a swelling on her left wrist.

Police have said in recent months that more and more robberies are being carried out on scooters because they are easy to maneuver and allow for quick escape.

On Wednesday, police released surveillance footage of the two suspects recorded in the first incident and asked the public for help in identifying and tracking them down.
