Queens subway passenger hit with fist and head for complaining about stranger spitting out husk

On Wednesday, police said a Queens subway passenger was beaten after she complained that a stranger had spit husks on the floor of the train.

According to police, a strange collision occurred on the R train bound for Manhattan around 13:20 on January 15.

“What are you doing?” the 34-year-old victim asked, spitting out the seed shells.

Police said the spitter took offense and headbutted the victim, prompting her to pull out her cell phone to record her assailant. The man with a spit snatched the victim’s mobile phone, put it in his pocket and punched the victim several times in the face.

Police have released images of a man and woman who, authorities say, had an argument with a woman on the subway, attacked her and stole her phone.

The stunned victim managed to retrieve the phone and exit the train at the Jackson Heights Roosevelt Avenue station. She was treated on the spot with bruises on her head.

The couple got off the train three stops later on Woodhaven Boulevard. They were last seen entering the Queens Center mall, police said.
