Paid pass

Another day, another blatant example of the heinous corruption and malfeasance that pervades the current far-left “leadership” in New York politics (“Hole’s Paid Stink on the Rise,” editorial, Jan. 25).

Gov. Hochul’s involvement in a paid COVID testing contract with a possible sponsor of her campaign warrants an investigation.

But what does State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins say? “I take her at her word. What a pity. Imagine her reaction if Hochul was a Republican involved in the same scam. Her cries will be heard on the moon.

The charade that Democrats are throwing at citizens across New York and the state is akin to the vomit swamp of Washington, DC. Politics and power is all that matters to them. The people (and the principle) be damned.

Crime: a lost cause

With all due respect and deepest sorrow: while living in Brooklyn, did Simone Brooks look back at her local representatives (“Stab Mom: I Want Justice,” Jan. 23)?

These are the people who are loudly and consistently calling for fewer police, downgrading of every crime, no bail and less incarceration – while she and her neighbors get poorer in every way in the asylum.

If she wants justice, she will get the “fair” justice that we are all subject to. It’s getting worse. Don’t resist, Miss Brooks. It’s too late now.

Live big in Florida.

I don’t know where Cindy Adams gets her information from, but her parody of Florida is outdated and absurd (“Florida Knows Nothing About New York,” January 23).

No one wears “green and white plaid pants” on the golf course, and I don’t see any greasy sequins. Botox and thinning blonde hair are not regional, Ms. Adams. Nor is the idyllic culture of New York claimed.

Like a New England snowbird, I happily fly away to Florida’s gorgeous coastline in October and reluctantly return in May.

It has excellent opera and world-class museums, art, live theater and endless intellectual, interesting and stimulating activities. Many of them are due to the increase in the number of highly ranked colleges and universities, as well as the many smart and attractive retirees. I am never afraid to walk after dark. The police are serious and the criminals know it. How very refreshing.

After only two days in New York at an investment conference, and I was approached five times by teenagers trying to sell me weed, I couldn’t wait to get out of a dirty, smelly Dodge – certainly not from the city in which I am. spent so much. time in and favorite. You can have it, Cindy!

Diner intolerance

This restaurant fuels intolerance towards conservative customers (“Forget My After-Breakfast Politics,” Jan. 25). If I want scrambled eggs, I don’t have to take a litmus test before picking up a fork to eat.

Fox News analyst Gianno Caldwell was reportedly asked to leave the restaurant, with the owner apparently not very verbose telling him that he (conservatives) was not allowed to enter the restaurant.

This is clearly a case of political segregation, and I thank Caldwell for not taking this insult lying down. Unlike many clients who can find themselves in such an awkward position, Caldwell has a social media presence and makes good use of it.

It’s about being able to use your free speech when you go out for breakfast and not give up on ham and eggs. No one should test their beliefs at the door before sitting down at the table.
