Ex NYC Transit president Sarah Feinberg sucker punched in unprovoked Manhattan attack

Former NYC Transit president Sarah Feinberg was assaulted on a Manhattan street corner in a random and unprovoked attack, police said Friday.

Feinberg was attacked at the corner of W. 21st St. and Sixth Ave. in Chelsea at about 1:15 p.m. Oct. 20 as she waited for the signal to change so she could cross the street, police said.

Her attacker fled on foot in an unknown direction, cops said.

When Feinberg called 911 and cops did not immediately respond, she walked to a local precinct to report the assault.

Feinberg refused medical attention, but suffered pain to the face, cops said.

Last year, Feinberg called for more cops to be stationed in subways, following a string of transit assaults during the pandemic.
