Change bail laws to punish fentanyl killers – NOW

Fentanyl kills tens of thousands of Americans every year, and thousands in New York alone.

Therefore, the call by Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney to make more drug offenses bailable is more than necessary.

Tierney also wants a “dealer death” law penalizing salespeople for overdosing.

His ideas received bipartisan support in the Legislature, but it is unlikely that Albany leadership will listen to reason and ignore progressives who love crime.

But the numbers show who is right.

Fentanyl-related deaths account for the vast majority of the more than 2,800 drug overdose cases in New York City (eight day) for the 12 months to June 2022.

This is up from 433 murders in 2022.

And thanks to the insane promiscuity of bail demands on the drug trade, the sellers of this deadly poison are regularly skating and therefore continue to kill.

Here’s what happened to Vito Frabicio: In 2022, he sold fentanyl to Long Island addict Frank Cairo. Cairo then overdosed and died, but Frabicio was released under supervision and arrested for trafficking. again pending trial.

Pure insanity—and clear evidence that New York’s criminal justice “reforms” are helping no one but the sociopathic scum, tearing apart families and entire communities.

Meanwhile, criminal Camorra there are members in Albany (including Democratic leaders in both houses) who are so terrified they won’t support even Gov. Kathy Hochul’s modest no bail decision.

May be Hochul will become tough enough to delay the state budget until she receives her request.

But this is only part of what is needed.

If sane Democrats in the Legislative Assembly fail to influence (or replace) their leaders, the carnage will continue until voters choose new lawmakers.
