California authorities seized almost 2 dozen weapons and 35,000 rounds of ammunition from a man’s home

On Tuesday, it was announced that authorities had seized about two dozen handguns, silencers and about 35,000 rounds of ammunition at the Southern California home of a man who was banned from owning a gun due to a mental health-related ban.

California Department of Justice agents arrested the man on January 25 at his home in the Los Angeles suburb of Azusa, Attorney General Rob Bonta said.

According to a statement from the Attorney General’s Office, the man was under a “mental health ban” but was listed on the state’s weapons system database of banned persons as the owner of a single firearm.
