Woman burned in face in unprovoked Brooklyn subway attack

An unidentified attacker threw caustic liquid into the face of a hospital worker, burning the victim’s skin Friday morning during her morning subway commute to Kings County Hospital, police said.

The assailant, also a woman, said nothing as she tossed the toxic substance into the 21-year-old victim’s face at 1 a.m. as the worker exited the Winthrop St. station, a few blocks from the hospital.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital and then transferred to the burn unit at Jacobi Medical Center.

She had just gotten off a No. 2 train and was standing on the south-bound platform when the woman stormed up and began arguing with her.

When the victim headed for the stairs, the other woman ran up and splashed her with the unknown liquid, scalding the victim’s face.

The suspect ran off after tossing the liquid and is still being sought by police.

Police could not immediately say what the burning liquid was.

The assailant is described as black, between 20 and 30-years-old with black hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket with a brown fur on the hood, black pants with white drawings on the legs and black boots, cops said. Cops on Friday released images of the woman in the hopes someone recognizes her.
