WATCH: NYPD cops fight with a ‘Dirty Harry’ sized gun at a customer in a Bronx deli

A pair of plainclothes NYPD cops wrestled a customer brandishing a large gun during a filmed brawl at a grocery store in the Bronx, Daily News has learned.

Video obtained by The News shows officers handcuffing the shooter and then snatching a Dirty Harry .44 magnum from him at the 543 deli on South Boulevard. in Mott Haven around 4:40 am on February 10th.

The shooter drew a massive handgun in front of the two officers as he began to walk out of the store, apparently not realizing they were members of the NYPD Transit District 12 area security team.

As can be seen from the video, as he walked towards the exit, one of the police officers grabbed him from behind and pressed him against the glass door, while the other tried to handcuff the hands of the criminal behind his back.

The video shows the 120-pound, 5-foot-5 shooter tried to break free but was pinned to a counter and arrested.

The police seized the firearms and charged Martin Mateo with criminal possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

A judge ordered Mateo to be held on $20,000 bail at the time of his Feb. 11 arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court. On Thursday, he remained on Rikers Island awaiting his next trial date.
