The man shot about 70 times while standing on the porch of a house in Philadelphia.

A Philadelphia man who was killed in a shootout Saturday night was hit by about 70 bullets near his home, according to a local report.

Shots rang out shortly before midnight on the 3400 block of North 16th Street in the city’s Tioga neighborhood, Philadelphia police said.

The police, who arrived in response to a message about a man with a weapon, found multiple gunshot wounds on his body in a 25-year-old victim.

The victim, later identified as Dhalsim Jackson-Maes, was taken to Temple University Hospital, where police said he was pronounced dead.

According to FOX29 Philadelphia, the victim received more than 70 gunshot wounds while standing on the porch of the house.

Police said no one was detained and no weapons were found at the scene. The motive for the shooting is being investigated.

As of Sunday, state police statistics show there have been 84 homicides in the city since the start of the year, down 17% from 101 homicides last year during the same period. In 2022, there were 516 homicides.

As of Sunday, there were 571 shooting incidents across the city since the start of the year, while 294 people were killed in shootings – both statistics were down about 25% over the same time from the previous year, according to the data.
