The fire destroyed boats and moored at Chandler’s Marina in Rockwall.

ROCKWALL, Texas – A large fire destroyed several boats at Chandler’s Wharf on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall.

At least four boats and parts of the dock system were damaged Monday afternoon.

The Rockwall Fire Department says the weather made the response difficult, as did the location.

More than 40 firefighters from five departments tried to extinguish it.

The cities of Rockwall and Dallas are working to limit lake pollution.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.
