Six dead in Tate County shooting, one detained: Sheriff

TATE COUNTY, Mississippi. Six people were killed in a series of shootings in Coldwater, Mississippi, near Arkabutla Lake, on Friday.

Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance confirmed to our FOX13 News affiliate in Memphis on Friday afternoon that an unnamed suspect was detained by a deputy and is in jail.

The first call to the police regarding the shooting at a store on the 8000 block of Arkabutla Road came around 11 am.

A second shooting was reported later at another nearby location, 800 Bend Road.

A third report of the shooting occurred at a different location prior to the suspect’s arrest.
