Runaway driver who left Brooklyn pedestrian clinging to life arrested five months later: NYPD

Police said Thursday that a driver who fled the scene, who left a 36-year-old Brooklyn pedestrian clinging to life, was arrested five months later.

Clossy Spencer, 29, is charged with assault, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

He was driving in reverse when he allegedly hit the victim on the afternoon of August 14 as she crossed Pacific Street and Buffalo Avenue in Crown Heights, about 100 feet from the driver’s house.

The NYPD Highway Patrol is investigating after a driver hit a pedestrian who fled the scene on Pacific Street and Buffalo Avenue in Brooklyn on August 14.

The victim suffered a severe head injury and was taken to the Kings County Hospital in critical condition. Police said Thursday she was still in critical condition.

“The back of his car was completely destroyed,” witness Jerome Mulley said at the time. “He got out of the car, looked at her and went.”
