Prosper ISD said in a statement that “the situation does not concern Prosper ISD students” and all questions have been referred to the Dallas Police Department.

“Because this is a criminal case outside of its role in the county and, to the best of our knowledge, Prosper ISD students are not involved in this situation, we are referring all questions to the Dallas Police Department,” the statement said.

The county sent the following email to parents on Wednesday evening.

“Prosper ISD wants to share some difficult news with you. Prosper ISD Board of Trustees President Drew Wilborn was arrested late Wednesday, January 25, 2023, by the Dallas Police Department and charged with indecent behavior towards a child. This is a criminal case, and to the best of our knowledge, Prosper ISD students are not involved in this situation. It’s natural for our community to ask questions, and we’ll provide as much information as we can when we can.”

According to the Prosper ISD website, Wilborn’s three-year term began in 2021.

NBC 5 contacted Dallas Police for a comment.

No further details about the allegations against Wilborn were forthcoming.

This fall, Wilborn held several confrontational meetings where parents questioned the county’s attitude towards sexual bus driver abuse allegations. Council Trustees voted to hire a law firm to investigate in allegations of abuse against at least two elementary school students and how the school district responded to it.
