Pennsylvanian woman arrested at Empire State Building for unlicensed firearms

Police said Monday that a Pennsylvania woman with a handgun, licensed to carry in Keystone but not in the Big Apple, was arrested as she tried to smuggle a gun into the Empire State Building.

Justina Sheeler, 37, activated a metal detector at the iconic skyscraper late Sunday morning, police said.

She was charged with illegal possession of a weapon.

Sheeler, of Auburn, Pennsylvania, apparently did not realize that her license to carry guns in New York State was invalid, police said.

Police also said there was no indication that Sheeler planned to use the weapon.
