Off-duty Fort Worth detective arrested for drunk driving

FORT WORTH, Texas. According to the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD), a Fort Worth Police detective is on limited duty after he was arrested by Benbrook officers.

A press release from the FWPD says Tanner Martin was arrested Thursday after hours after he was believed to be driving while intoxicated.

The Department of the Interior is investigating the matter. Meanwhile, Martin was stripped of his police powers. Fort Worth police said he had been with the department for seven years and was in the Crimes Against Children Unit when he was arrested.

“The Fort Worth Police Department will continue to prosecute officers who do not meet the standards expected of a Fort Worth Police Department while remaining transparent and open to our community,” the FWPD said in a statement.
