One person killed and two seriously injured in bus collision

FORT MYERS, Florida. One person died and two others were critically injured when a Lee County transit bus collided with an SUV in Fort Myers on Saturday.

Around 4 p.m., the SUV was driving west on Summerlyn Road in an attempt to turn onto San Carlos Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The SUV turned left in front of the transit bus and collided with the front of it.

The driver of the SUV, a 77-year-old California resident, was taken to hospital and later died from his injuries.

Two passengers in the SUV were seriously injured.

The bus driver received minor injuries. There were no passengers on board.
