Trump UN Ambassador Promises ‘Full Judicial Press’ to Fight China’s ‘Abuse’ of Fentanyl in That State If Elected by Government

Former UN Representative to the UN Kelly Craft is promising “full legal action” to fight the Chinese Communist Party’s contribution to the fentanyl crisis that is plaguing the United States if she is elected as the next governor of Kentucky in this year’s gubernatorial election.

“We can do better,” Kraft, who was ambassador to the UN and ambassador to Canada under former President Donald Trump, said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital about her attempt to topple vulnerable Democratic governor Andy Beshear.

“I called China, the Chinese Communist Party. I stood very, very firm with them in their human trafficking, their modern-day slavery, their human abuse and their fentanyl. I called them and spoke against them. The thing is, the Chinese Communist Party sanctioned me for the rest of my life,” Kraft said.

“If I can stand up to the Chinese Communist Party, I can stand up to special interest groups in Kentucky and stand firm and determined for what the people of Kentucky deserve. And that’s a promise,” she added.

China is still the United States’ main source of fentanyl imports, killing more than 100 Americans every day, according to the Drug Enforcement Agency. It also continues to be the main source of fentanyl for the rest of the world.

Kentucky has been one of the hardest hit states when it comes to the fentanyl crisis. The drug accounted for 70% of the state’s 2,250 overdose deaths in 2021, according to the state.

The state passed the 2,000 deaths mark again in 2022, reaching that figure with four months left in the year and with 73% of fentanyl-related deaths. The state’s final report on overdose deaths for 2022 has yet to be released.

Kraft criticized Beshear for avoiding the topic of overdoses and the fentanyl crisis in his State of the Union address earlier this month.

“He never once mentioned fentanyl. And we have a crisis in this state. We have a terrible drug crisis,” she said. “And this is one area where I will stand very firm. And, you know, I’ll have full legal press when it comes to drugs in Kentucky.”

Kraft is one of twelve candidates looking to win the Republican nomination and take on Beshear, a crowded field that includes Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles and State Auditor Mike Harmon.

“I had results-oriented leadership. I served this country not once, but twice,” she added, talking about her role in negotiating the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) with Trump, as well as the Abraham Accords between Israel, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. .
