NYC cop murder suspect arrested and taken away in victim’s handcuffs

The NYPD has arrested a man suspected of shooting and killing an off-duty cop.

Police found Randy Jones, 38, at a motel in Nanuet, New York, on Monday, according to ABC News.

Two days earlier, Jones shot and killed 26-year-old officer Abid Fayaz, who went with his son-in-law to Jones about buying a car.

Jones approached them and asked if they had a gun. “When they said no, Jones allegedly headlocked Fayaz, pointed a gun at him and demanded money,” reports ABC.

Fayaz broke free, but was wounded in the head. Jones then fled the scene after being shot several times by Fayaz’s brother-in-law. Fayaz was hospitalized but died from his injuries on Tuesday.

According to ABC, police took Jones into custody and took him away in handcuffs that belonged to Fayaz.

The New York Post pointed out that Jones has a long criminal history. At the time of his arrest, he was wanted for traffic and vehicle violations and had previously faced 22 charges, including grand theft, harassment and strangulation.

I think it’s appropriate to ask here how Jones even walked the streets.

Does progressive politics lead to an increase in crime?

Jones is obviously a very dangerous man who has committed several heinous crimes. The judicial system clearly does not work if such a person is released. This puts people at risk – just ask the family of Abid Fayaz.

This largely explains why crime has skyrocketed in left-wing cities, where the failure to enforce the law leads criminals to run rampant.

New York is one of the cities hardest hit by the recent crime epidemic. This is in no small part due to the fact that New York City has adopted insane crime mitigation policies, including the release of criminals on non-cash bail. Many of them committed crimes again.

Other liberal cities have shown a similar reluctance to fight crime and have instead succumbed to frantic left-wing initiatives such as defunding the police, a move many cities are now beginning to regret.

We now see that even after hours, police officers are not immune to the violent crime that is rampant in our cities.

This should never have happened. If New York had abided by the law, Jones could not have committed this crime; he would be in jail. But instead, criminals are allowed to roam freely while ordinary citizens live in fear.

Americans are rightfully tired of crime in their cities and the reluctance of left-wing leaders to take any action to curb violence.

It is high time for our leaders to take responsibility and really do something to stop crime. This madness has gone on too long.
