New York judge criticizes Trump’s attempt to introduce DNA into rape case months after deadline

A federal judge on Wednesday denied Donald Trump’s request to submit his DNA in a rape lawsuit months after the deadline.

Trump provided no valid reason for his 11-hour request, which his accuser E. Jean Carroll’s lawyers called a delaying tactic, Manhattan Federal Court Judge Lewis Kaplan found. Trump also requested access to Carroll’s DNA data records.

“There is no legal basis for this court to accept Mr. Trump’s offer to provide a sample of his DNA, subject to whether the court will grant his application, which he does not,” Kaplan wrote, dismissing the request.

Former President Donald Trump

Trump’s request comes three days after Kaplan set an April 25 trial date for the case.

Former President Joe Takopina’s lawyer did not immediately return a call asking for comment.
