New York City man shot dead by stranger during street fight, police say
Police said a 31-year-old man was shot dead by an apparent stranger during a brawl on a Bronx street.
Marquis Lane was shot in the chest at the corner of Park Avenue and East 167th Street in Morrisania minutes before 9 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
The victim and the unidentified man got into a fight when the gunman approached Lane and opened fire on him, authorities said.
The NYPD is investigating the site of a fatal shooting in the Bronx on February 7, 2023.
The victim was identified as 31-year-old Marquis Lane.

Lane was pronounced dead at Lincoln Medical Center.
The shooting was the result of a street fight between Lane and a stranger.

Lane, who lived just a few blocks from where he was shot, was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
By Wednesday morning, there were no detainees.
