New Jersey father shoots wife, teen son and himself in apparent murder-suicide: report

This week, a New Jersey father shot and killed his wife, teenage son, and then himself in their home, according to a local report.

According to the Morris County Attorney’s Office, on Tuesday morning, police arrived at a house in the Sukkasund area for a welfare check and found three bodies.

Law enforcement sources told WNBC that the man shot and killed his family before turning the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide at Justine Place’s home.

Prosecutors were unable to confirm these details or name the victims on Wednesday morning.

An active investigation is ongoing, prosecutors said, adding that there is no danger to the public and more information will be released “in due course.”

Prosecutors did not immediately identify the victims.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the terrible news of the loss of one of our high school students,” the Facebook post reads. “The high school administration and staff have coordinated support and resources for students and staff who may need them.”

Morris County is the second wealthiest county in Garden State in terms of per capita income, according to a study published last year by financial technology company SmartAsset.
