Marina’s man was arrested for a ghost weapon and a threat to a child

MARINA, California. (KION-TV) – Marina police said Tuesday morning they arrested a man in the 3000 block of Owen Avenue after a search warrant was issued to him.

The warrant was issued to the police following reports of suspicions of child abuse and endangerment of children. Marina police searched the house with a K9 squad and were alerted to the presence of a ghost submachine gun and a loose handgun.

Marina police also said they seized ammunition and high-capacity magazines.

Joseph Ordaz-Hoang, 32, of Marina, was arrested and imprisoned in the Monterey County Jail. The police said he was at risk of child abuse/endangerment, illegal possession of an assault weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm.

His bail was set at $50,000.

Maria police are reminding the public that not hiding a loaded firearm where a child can reach it could result in your arrest. If you know anyone who owns, manufactures, or distributes illegal or ghost weapons, you may report it to your local police station and remain anonymous.
