Man arrested in Sacramento County over shooting that left two dead and two injured

A suspect was taken into police custody in connection with a shooting in Sacramento County on Monday morning that left two people dead and two others critically injured.

According to prison records, Robben Luke Bryson, 31, was arrested on charges of murder, attempted murder, possession of a gun by a criminal and cruelty to animals early Thursday morning and sent to the main Sacramento County Jail in downtown.

Sgt. Amar Gandhi, a spokesman for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, said he was detained in connection with the gunshot that occurred Monday on Rogue River Drive in La Riviera County.

According to statements made earlier this week by the sheriff’s office, four firearm victims were found in a house on Rogue River Drive.

This was the result of an anonymous, incomplete call to 911 on Monday at 1:15 am, the statement said. Two victims died on the spot, two others were injured, requiring hospitalization.

Two of the victims are still in critical condition.

According to Gandhi, as of Wednesday evening, two of the wounded remained conscious, but were in a “critical” condition in hospitals.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified two dead: Jack Vernon James Jr., 59, and Vicki Lynn Bright, 66, both Sacramento residents.

Gandhi said Bryson was detained in Nevada County on Wednesday. Gandhi added that the homicide detectives’ investigation was still ongoing as the circumstances of Monday’s quadruple shooting were still under investigation.
