Man, aged 35 and 15, arrested for gas station shooting in Georgia that injured 9 children

A man and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured nine children, including a 5-year-old, near a gas station in Columbus, Georgia.

Columbus police announced the arrest of D’Angelo Robinson Sr., 35, and a teenager, who was not named due to his age, after investigating a shooting at a Shell gas station on February 17.

Robinson faces eight charges of aggravated assault and has been jailed in Muskogee County Jail, Columbus police said in a statement.

The juvenile was charged with one count of aggravated assault and was taken into custody at the regional juvenile detention center.

Bullets began flying after a nearby party brawl spilled over into a gas station, Columbus Police Chief Freddie Blackmon said after the shooting.

The 5-year-old was shot dead at a gas station along with a family member, Blackmon said, adding that the other injured were a 12-year-old boy, two 13-year-old girls, a 13-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, two 15-year-old boys and 17 year old boy.

All victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and four were discharged from the hospital shortly after the shooting.
