Man, 72, fatally hit by Bronx SUV driver

On Sunday, police said a 72-year-old man died almost a month after he was hit by a Bronx SUV driver.

Cristobal Acosta was crossing the intersection at E. 168th Street and Walton Avenue in Concourse when the driver of an Audi SUV crashed into him around 5:55 p.m. Dec. 20, police said. Acosta fell to the ground from the impact.

Medics took him to Lincoln Hospital with head and torso injuries. He was originally expected to survive, but he died on 17 January.

The SUV driver continued east on E. 168th Street without being caught.

Acosta was less than a mile from home when he was hit, police said.
