Former Trump administration official and ‘The View’ co-host says she is ‘genuinely afraid’ of former president

A former Trump administration employee turned co-host of ABC’s The View says she is “genuinely afraid” of her former boss.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked her panellists if they think you-know-who critics should “fear retribution” if he wins a second term.

Are you scared, Joey? she asked.

Joy Behar replied: “No. I was at his wedding, remember.

However, former Trump administration official and co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin chimed in: “I’m afraid.”

She continued, “I genuinely fear him. And I think just to highlight it [as] someone who once worked for him knows him personally, I’m afraid he’s on duty.”

“This is a man who loves retribution… The New York Times leaked that he was taken to a bunker during the social justice protests in the summer of 2020, and he said: “The man who did this should be executed.” This is cheating,” she added. “This is a man who uses any force to persecute anyone who treats him with disdain.”

Finally, Griffin objected: “What can not be forgotten … he is more dangerous for a second term, God forbid. In his first term, his worst instincts were usually suppressed by people who said, “You must win a second term, you must win a second term.”

“Second time… all bets are off. He will do whatever the hell he wants,” she said.

In 2021, CNN’s Jake Tupper asked Griffin if she thought former President Donald Trump would try to impose “some kind of autocracy” if he won a second term.

“I think he would definitely do it,” she replied.

She continued: “There were things he wanted to do when he was in office for the first time that went far beyond what a U.S. President should have done, but often it was just the motivation of a simple hope of re-election that kept him going. from classes. During my second term, things are very different, and I think that’s what scares me the most.”

Griffin also said that Trump “will arm the Justice Department against political opponents by harassing the free press.”

“He would certainly be open to the use of the military and for political purposes,” she insisted.

Her comments on The View came as polls show Trump leading the way in the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
