Florida Teacher Says She Didn’t Confiscate Student’s Nintendo Switch Before Severe Beating

A Florida teacher’s assistant who was brutally attacked by a 270-pound student has denied the assailant’s allegations that she provoked the classroom beating when she confiscated his Nintendo Switch.

Joan Naidich, a paraprofessional at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, made the revelation on Monday as she continues to recover from being hit on the floor and stepped on 15 times.

“I just want to be clear. I have never borrowed a Nintendo Switch from him. From everyone who has read or heard otherwise, I have been told that this is unfortunately misinformation,” Naiditsch said, according to a fundraiser launched for her recovery.

Brendan Depa, 17, told police that he started his tirade about Naiditsch after she took his portable game console during class.

A disturbing video shows a clumsy 6-foot-6 teenager taking revenge on a mother of two in a school hallway.

Depa can be seen running towards Naiditsch and pushing her to the ground, immediately losing consciousness.

The teen continues to beat Naiditsch’s limp body as stunned students and teachers try to stop the abuse. As can be seen from the frame, it took four adults to pull the massive student away from Naiditsch.

Naiditsch was rushed to a nearby hospital and has since been discharged, but said she was “appalled at the idea of a long fight ahead.”

“I hope that publicity about this incident will prevent anyone else from dealing with the trauma, physical healing, and disruption to daily life that this has caused,” Naiditsch said on GoFundMe, where over $66,000 was raised. was raised for her.
