Elderly MTA employee hospitalized after subway attack in midtown Manhattan

Police said a 70-year-old MTA employee was hospitalized Sunday after she was attacked from behind on a subway platform in midtown Manhattan.
The worker was standing on platform 7 southbound at 34th Street-Hudson Yards when someone hit her from behind around 8:15 pm Sunday, police said.
The assailant left on foot, leaving her with lacerations on her face.

She was taken to the district hospital for treatment.
Police were still looking for the attacker late Sunday evening.
