Delray Beach Open has a record opening weekend

DERLAY BEACH, Florida – The Delray Beach Open is in full swing.

On Sunday, the last day of qualification took place at the tournament. The main draw for the ATP Tour starts on Monday.

Delray Beach Open chief executive Adam Baron said they already had a record number of viewers this weekend.

“The weather certainly helps, but the atmosphere, everyone comes to the place and they love the atmosphere,” he said. “Lounges, bars, everyone is smiling, families, children, everything for everyone.”

According to Baron, more than 60,000 spectators attended the tournament last year. He said they expect even more this year.

“Things are going to get better and better, with more fans every day,” said Baron.

The fans came from all over the world to be able to sit in the stands.

“I love it every year, it’s great here, it’s like being at home,” said a WPTV fan.

Baron said the event was a huge economic boost for the city of Delray Beach and this year is no different.

“The future is bright. We’re thrilled to show the world that televised in over 100 countries why Delray Beach is the place to go,” said Baron. — If you see it on TV and you’re not from here, you should come and check it out.
