2 teenagers critically injured in shooting outside of Fort Worth Whataburger: police

Two teenagers were critically injured in a Friday afternoon shooting outside a fast food restaurant near Easter High School in Fort Worth, police said.

The shooting took place shortly after 4 p.m. outside a Whataburger restaurant in the 2400 block of West Berry Street, according to police. A police spokesman confirmed that the two teenagers were in critical condition.

Early information was limited. It is not yet known what circumstances led to the shooting and whether the shooter was detained.

Nearby Paschal High School, which closed classes the day before the shooting, was closed to all staff and students participating in extracurricular activities, a district spokeswoman said. The school’s Friday night varsity basketball game was rescheduled to Saturday due to limited campus access.

A spokeswoman said the Fort Worth ISD was cooperating with the Fort Worth police investigation, but did not say if Easter students were involved in the shooting.
