Maribel Health Raises $25M or More in Digital Health Funding

Maribel Health, a company that helps healthcare systems design, build and operate high-tech home and community health services, has received $25 million in a Series A funding round led by common catalyst.

The New Hampshire-based company was launched as part of the General Catalyst program.hatch, where a venture firm provides resources to start companies from scratch and then work with them as they grow.

Maribel Health offers clinical workflows, training, technology, operational capabilities and automation for remote clinical care teams as an extension of the healthcare system or outpatient clinic.

The company also announced a partnership with St. Louis-based Mercy Health System and New Jersey-based BAYADA Home Health Care, under which Maribel will design, develop and manage inpatient home care programs that will eventually form the basis for other home care models.

The funds will be used to accelerate growth with the company’s existing partners, attract new talent, and further develop its technology platform.

“Together, with our shared vision for Health Assurance, we have created Maribel: a technology operating partner whose mission is to work within healthcare systems to integrate advanced home and community care,” Hemant Taneja, CEO and Managing Director of General Catalyst, said in a statement.

“Maribel is the most recent incubator company to use the GC building strategy, joining our early company building successes namely Livongo, Commure, Kayak and Homeward. We believe this paradigm shift towards meeting people where they are will improve the quality of care and increase the overall capacity of the healthcare system.”


Dublin-based Fire1 has completed a $25 million funding round led by Andera Partners and Novo Holdings.

The round also included existing investors Gilde Healthcare, the Irish Strategic Investment Fund, New Enterprise Associates, Lightstone Ventures, Gimv, Medtronic and Seventure Partners.

Aneta Sottil, director of Andera Life Sciences, and Eric Snyder, venture capital partner at Novo Holdings, will join the company’s board of directors.

The company offers an implant that allows remote monitoring of patients with heart failure. Fire1 will use the tools to accelerate the development of its remote monitoring solution.

Existing investors Grove Ventures and Pitango HealthTech participated in the round along with Copenhagen-based Maj Invest Equity Fund.

An Israeli company analyzes biomarkers at the protein level using its proteomic artificial intelligence platform to map the course of a disease to help researchers find drugs and predict which patients will respond to a given drug.

The company will use the additional funds to build its oncology drug development channel, expand its operations through partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, and increase data collection.

Funds add companies $8 million in seed funding received in 2022.
