Dances with Wolves actor Nathan Chasing Horse is facing a slew of new allegations related to allegations of sexual abuse and trafficking of Indigenous women and girls in the US and Canada for decades.

A grand jury in Nevada on Wednesday indicted the 46-year-old alleged cult leader on 19 counts, adding charges of kidnapping, obscenity and drug trafficking to previous charges of sexual harassment, human trafficking and child abuse.

Chasing a Horse, who is best known for his role as Smiling A Lot in Kevin Costner’s Oscar-winning 1990 film, is now facing charges in Nevada, Canada and on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana.

Since the early 2000s, he has used his influence to sexually and physically abuse young girls and women in several states and Canada, according to investigators.

He has been in Las Vegas police custody on $300,000 bail since Jan. 31, when he was arrested by SWAT near the North Las Vegas home he shared with his five wives.

Authorities accused the former child actor of filming his child sexual abuse, keeping diaries detailing the abuse, and teaching his wives how to use guns and “suicide pills” in case the police ever tried to “destroy them.” family.”

Chasing Horse, who was born on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, will be asked to file an application in Clark County District Court on March 1.

Christy Holston, a public defender for Chasing Horse, told The Associated Press that she plans to uncover gaps in the state’s case against the former actor during a preliminary hearing that was canceled on Wednesday ahead of an indictment.

She declined to elaborate on what those holes were.

“Because the public is so interested in this case, and since only a few details of the charges have been made public, we believe that it would be most appropriate for the state to present its evidence at a public hearing, where the defense can reveal the weaknesses of the state power. the matter is on the record in court,” she wrote in an email.

According to the arrest report, after his arrest, authorities found firearms, psilocybin mushrooms, 41 pounds of marijuana, and two mobile phones with videos and photos of underage girls being sexually abused in his home.

Video footage of the attacks led to federal child pornography charges in the U.S. District Court in Nevada.

His arrest earlier this year in Nevada was the result of a month-long investigation initiated by Las Vegas police that uncovered a pattern of sexual assault and alleged crimes dating back to the early 2000s.

These alleged crimes span multiple states and Canada, where Chasing Horse was charged with rape in 2018 in British Columbia.

He was also indicted by the Attorney’s Office of the Fort Peck Tribe in Montana with one count of aggravated sexual assault in connection with a 2005 rape.
