According to police, when the cops tried to arrest him, Barnard allegedly hit them both with the same padlock.

He was eventually arrested and taken to the Metropolitan Hospital for a medical examination.

Authorities said Barnard faced a long list of charges, including robbery, two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, assault, resisting arrest, illegal possession of a weapon, and threatening a police officer.

Two store employees refused medical attention at the scene.

The two officers were taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in stable condition with minor injuries, police said.

A metal lock, as well as all the stolen items, were found at the scene.

19th precinct tweeted photo of two wounded officers on Thursday.

“A notorious criminal robs @cvspharmacy: injures employees and police officers, ”the tweet reads. “After robbing Red Bulls and locks, the suspect escaped by hitting and attacking two employees with locks and attacking two responding police officers in the same way.
