Burglar throws 64-year-old woman to ground in brutal NYC wallet theft: cops

A heartless robber threw a 64-year-old woman to the ground when he snatched her purse in the lobby of a Brooklyn building over the weekend, police said.

Police said the victim was approached from behind by a stranger in a building on East 34th Street near Church Avenue in East Flatbush at 6:40 a.m. Sunday.

Then the bastard grabbed the bag she was carrying on her shoulder. According to police, the woman fought the thief, but he managed to snatch the bag from her paws and throw it to the ground.

When the suspect ran out of the lobby, authorities said he slammed the front door on the victim, who was still on the ground.

It then took off, heading north along Church Avenue.

The victim was taken to Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital, where she was said to be in stable condition with injuries to her back and leg.

Her stolen purse contained a wallet, $80 in cash, credit cards, and ID.

Police released surveillance footage of the suspect early Wednesday morning.
