Brooklyn shooter who killed man who he says convicted his murdered brother has been arrested in Sacramento.

The Brooklyn shooter, who police say fled the city after killing a man who insulted his murdered brother, has returned to New York, this time behind bars.

Steven Gardner, 24, was arrested in Sacramento on Dec. 12 and extradited back to the Big Apple on Thursday, where he was charged with the murder of Aubrey Ammonds and possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD.

Gardner, whose brother was fatally shot the previous summer, disagreed with Ammonds’ disparaging comment about his murdered brother, police said.

On the evening of September 7, Gardner, a member of the Belmont Bloods street gang, shot and killed Ammonds while he was sitting in a Nissan Altima on Belmont Avenue near Shepherd Avenue in East New York.

Ammonds, a father of two who used to live around the corner but moved to Queens, was rushed to the Interfaith Medical Center but could not be saved.

Details as to what Ammonds said were not immediately available.

According to police, Gardner was tracked to California and admitted to being at the scene of Ammond’s murder.

The suspected shooter has already been arrested once for possession of a weapon. According to the documents, he was convicted and served more than three years in state prison before being released on parole in February 2021.
