An 80-year-old man who was beaten by the occupants grabs his firearm and changes the situation in an instant

When two perpetrators broke into the home of an 80-year-old Chicago man and began beating him, the legally owned firearm, as is often the case, allowed the victim to flee.

According to WMAQ-TV, the Chicago Police Department said an unidentified elderly man living near O’Hare International Airport was the victim of a home invasion on Monday morning. An unidentified man and woman knocked on his door and they eventually rushed in.

Police said a fight broke out between the three and the elderly man, who turned out to be the owner of the gun, drew his firearm and ended up shooting the suspected man in the chest.

WMAQ reported that the suspects fled the scene and traveled to the nearby Resurrection Hospital, where the male suspect was in critical condition.

The victim is also in critical condition, the report said.

Neighbors were especially appalled by the brazen daytime attack.

“I was shocked when I heard this, because it’s like in the middle of the day, in the morning, and something like that happens so close to your house that it’s really scary to hear,” one of the elderly man’s neighbors told WLS. -TV SET.

Boris Stojakovic, who runs a building across the street from the attack site, said he had instructed his residents to be careful.

“We are actively checking that all of our doors remain closed and notifying our residents to not let anyone into the building they are not waiting for,” Stojakovic said.

Neighbor Kevin Wilhite praised the 80-year-old’s courage, telling WMAQ, “I applaud his bravery, especially at his age when he can take on two people.”

While the man was “beaten” by the two captors, police said he managed to survive the situation thanks to the rights granted to him by the Second Amendment.

“The victim was beaten and suffered multiple injuries all over his body and was taken to Resurrection Hospital in critical condition,” Chicago police said, according to Fox News.
