Alleged Idaho killer met with police chief before killings, emails show

Idaho quadruple murder suspect may have law enforcement experience.

According to Inside Edition, in April 2022, Brian Kochberger sent an email to Pullman, Washington Police Chief Gary Jenkins thanking him for the meeting.

Koberger is a Doctor of Criminology from Washington State University. student – looking for a research position in the Jenkins department.

“It was a great pleasure meeting you today and sharing my thoughts and excitement about the public safety internship,” Kochberger wrote.

“Looking forward to your reply. Sincerely, Brian,” the email reads.

According to Inside Edition, Kochberger was looking for a three-year internship with the agency.

Jenkins responded to Kochberger’s email with a cordial and concise reply.

“Nice to meet and talk with you.”

PhD in criminology. student, Kochberger interviewed members of the “ExCons” subreddit to analyze their thoughts and feelings about their own crimes.

It is not clear if Kochberger got a job with the Pullman Police Department.

Pullman is located near Moscow, Idaho.

Koberger is accused of a brutal stabbing home invasion that killed four University of Idaho students in that city.

The suspect was arrested after a trip to his parents’ home in Pennsylvania, more than a month after the crime shocked the Moscow public.

He faces four charges of murder in the first degree, a crime punishable by death in Idaho.

A probable cause sworn statement released by prosecutors says DNA evidence is a critical factor in the State v. Kochberger case.

Koberger maintains his innocence, saying the trial will lead to his rehabilitation, Idaho Press reported.

The defendant waived his right to an expedited preliminary hearing during his final appearance in court, according to KING-TV.

This legal strategy gives his defense team more time to argue the possible cause of the charge against Kochberger.
