Accused NYC killer caught with gun cache during family dispute: cops

Police officers called this week in connection with a family dispute in Queens found that their suspect, who was arrested for murder more than a decade ago, had amassed a huge stockpile of guns, ammunition and drugs, authorities said Wednesday.

Kevin Signy, 37, was arrested around 10 a.m. Tuesday after a shocking discovery at his home on 112th Street near 196th Street in St. Albans, authorities said.

The victim told police while answering a domestic violence call that Signy allegedly had access to firearms, prompting the police to notify the 113th Precinct field intelligence officers.

Officers found 18 handguns, two body armor, various ammunition and high-capacity magazines, as well as 4 pounds of cocaine and a large number of pills in the house, police said.

Signy was arrested and charged with multiple criminal possession of a weapon, including rape over a machine gun, a loaded firearm, and a clip, police said.

He was also charged with illegal possession of controlled substances, police said.

Police sources said that Signy had previously been arrested in 2012 in connection with the death of 18-year-old Raborn Chesson on Ferndale Avenue near Sutfin Boulevard in Jamaica.

He was charged with murder but pleaded guilty only to criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, according to police and Queens district attorney sources.

He was sentenced to eight years in prison, prosecutors said.

State corrections records show he was released on parole in 2019 and released by the parole board last April.
