A woman proceeded to a building in Manhattan and was attacked while trying to rob

Police said Wednesday that a woman was chased into the elevator of a Manhattan apartment building and beaten while trying to rob.

The 24-year-old victim was dragged into a building on the corner of Hamilton Place and W. 142nd Street in Harlem around 7 a.m. on February 9, police said.

Creep followed her into the elevator and attacked her when she got out.

According to police, he knocked the victim to the floor and hit her on the head several times while trying to get the bag.

Not having time to get it from her, the attacker ran out of the building and fled in a gray car.
