A mother of three is wheelchair-bound after being brutally assaulted – the suspect reportedly chased her for miles before stabbing her
On February 13, Nhung Truong left Bank of America in Houston, Texas for a shopping mall.
In some of the last moments she was ever able to walk unaided, she was attacked, robbed and thrown to the ground by a suspect who now walks the streets as Truong may never walk again.
Houston police are now asking for help from the public in an attack that left a 44-year-old mother of three with spinal cord injury meaning she needs help getting to the bathroom and a wheelchair to get around, KRIV-TV reported. . .
That morning, Houston police said Truong had withdrawn cash from the Bank of America. According to the Daily Mail, her next stop was a mall nearly 24 miles away when she was attacked.

Surveillance video showed that Truong had been attacked. The video ended with the assailant knocking Truong to the ground.
“The appellant dropped her belongings on the ground, so the suspect grabbed what he thought was an envelope and started running when he realized he had taken the wrong envelope,” Houston police said in a statement, Newsweek reported.
Is violent crime spiraling out of control in American cities?
“Then the suspect ran up to the applicant, picked her up and threw her to the ground. The suspect grabbed the envelope with the accident and fled the scene,” the police said in a statement.
The Truong family said she had $4,300 with her to pay for a trip to visit her family in Vietnam, whom she had not seen for six years, KRIV reported.
“I feel very terrible and sad at the same time,” Truong said.

Now she is in a rehabilitation center, but her chances of a full recovery are 50 percent.
“I just need to work out, try walking and all that. I’m really sad that this happened to me and I just want people to know to be careful,” she said, according to KHOU-TV.
“If a miracle happens, she will be able to walk again,” said Van Duong, Truong’s daughter, according to KRIV.
“Everything was very bad. We have to pay rent and everything, and only she can work and help us. We don’t know what to do,” she said. The Truong children are 13, 15 and 20 years old. Her husband died a few years ago due to liver cancer.
The family created GoFundMe to cover their expenses.
“It’s not a big waste of money. The big loss is her leg,” Truong’s daughter Lin Duong said, according to KHOU.
