A 17-year-old boy is shot to death in New York during an upsurge in teen gun violence.

On Sunday, a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in East Harlem. According to police, this is the last teenager who died from firearms in the city.

Dominic Allen was shot in the chest on East 105th Street near First Avenue around 5:15 p.m., authorities said. The motive for the murder is not clear.

When police arrived at the scene about the “shots,” Allen had already been taken to a Harlem hospital, where authorities said he was pronounced dead.

Police found “numerous” shell casings at the scene.

No arrests were made.

The shooting comes just weeks after NYPD data reviewed by The Post showed that more teenagers are being shot at the Big Apple — and that in most cases other young people are pulling the trigger.

NYPD statistics show that young people pulled the trigger in 98 shootings in five boroughs from January 1 to September 1 last year, with 119 of those also under the age of 18.

“Unfortunately, we are seeing the highest number of young people under the age of 18 involved in gun violence,” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said last month on WABC Radio’s Cats at Night Show. -770.

Chief pointed to the “presence of weapons” as a possible reason for the surge.

“And under certain circumstances, arresting people for weapons has no consequences,” he told host John Catsimatidis. “They go right out [of court.]”
