A 15-year-old boy is wounded on Harlem Street.

Police said on Monday that a 15-year-old boy shot and wounded in Harlem was the latest victim of gun violence against urban teenagers.

The victim was shot in the stomach at 135th Street and Lenox Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, near a Harlem hospital where he was in serious but stable condition, police said.

The victim was arrested last week on charges of possession of a weapon, police said. Further details were not immediately available.

Two possible suspects, both dressed in black, fled. Two shell casings were found.

According to NYPD statistics provided by the Daily News, 157 victims under the age of 18 were killed or injured in gunfights last year, up 20 from 2021.
