26-year-old Bronx shooting victim found dead in passenger seat of car

Police said Monday the body of a 26-year-old shooting victim was found in the passenger seat of a car in the Bronx.

The victim was found in a Honda CRV on Union Avenue near E. 168th Street in Morrisania around 2:20 p.m., police said.

He was shot in the stomach and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later determined that the victim had been blown up about half a mile from the house, on E. 163rd Street, near Rev. James Polite Avenue in Longwood.

According to the police, someone took the mortally wounded man to where his body was left.

His name has not been released as the police are working to find his family.

There were no immediate arrests.
