11-year-old girl from Georgia was killed by a stray bullet while sleeping in the bedroom: police

An 11-year-old Georgia girl was killed in her sleep on Tuesday when she was hit by a stray bullet that flew through her bedroom window.

The shot was fired near the young girl’s apartment in Spalding Heights during an alleged gang-related feud around 1 a.m., according to the county sheriff’s office.

“One of the projectiles fired at its intended target missed, went through the window of the victim’s bedroom and hit her, killing her instantly,” Sheriff Darrell Dix said.

Investigators are looking for Kionta Parks, 22, who they believe pulled the trigger.

“Everything points to it being a gang-related shooting and he was shooting at another man who drove into the parking lot from about 100 yards away with a rifle and just fired bullets,” Dix told Fox 5 Atlanta.

Parks, who has an extensive history of violent acts, is considered “armed and dangerous,” Dix said.

“He is who he is. He’s a monster, the sheriff says.

The 22-year-old suspect, named Kionta Parks, has not been arrested as he has an extensive list of warrants for his arrest.

The alleged shooter has multiple warrants of arrest, including murder for a felony, three counts of aggravated assault, four counts of possession of a firearm at the time of the crime, child abuse, 14 counts of violating the Georgia Street Criminal Law. gangs and domestic terrorism.

Some of the charges relate to the February 14 shooting at the same apartment complex that police believe Parks was involved in.

Police are still investigating whether the second shooter was involved in the death of the 11-year-old boy.

The girl’s name has not been released, but Deeks confirmed that she is from Louisiana.

“She was a beautiful young girl, very loved, very talented, and I think she was very loved by the people who knew her and were close to her,” Dix said.

“When you see all that potential gone because some idiot decides he wants to go into an apartment complex and starts randomly shooting at someone because of gang affiliation or because of how they feel that they were hurt before, whether it was a week ago, a year ago, or two hours ago, it’s just downright ridiculous. It’s ridiculous.”

The girl became the second child in Georgia to be killed in a shootout while sleeping in her bedroom in just eight days.

Ten-year-old Damarion Byrd has died after gunmen shot at his trailer in Baldwin County, WSBTV reports.

Several arrests were made in connection with the murder.
